This is only one of the many mission works that our church supports. We already had a team that visited Guatemala in February of this year to build "Widow Huts". To most Americans these humble houses would not be big enough for a decent storage building. Our team built three 9 X 14 concrete block huts and the family of 8 that was going to live in one of these huts wept because they had never had such a nice place to live. The link under PHOTO ALBUMS here in left column will show you a few pictures of their trip.
JUNE 2007 - HAPPY FEET MISSION TRIP
This June from the 9th - 16th, we will have a group of nearly 50 people heading down to Guatemala carrying medical supplies, VBS supplies, reading glasses and hopefully 2000 pairs of shoes! We have teamed up with Memorial United Methodist Church to try to reach this goal. We will have a team of doctors and nurses that will be providing medical care, dispensing medicine and vitamins to the local community. The rest of our team will have many duties. We will be leading Vacation Bible School each morning and we will be distributing shoes to everyone that we possibly can each afternoon. |
